Although overall consumer confidence remains marginally positive there is a significant generational divide. Canadians 60 and over have the highest consumer confidence compared to all other age cohorts. Those over 60 are likely the least affected by the rising cost of living.

Nanos conducted an RDD dual frame (land- and cell-lines) telephone random survey of 1,089 respondents in Canada. This report is based on the four waves of tracking ending August 16th, 2024. The margin of error for a random survey of 1,089 Canadians is ±3.0 percentage points, 19 times out of 20. The research was commissioned by the Bloomberg and was conducted by Nanos Research.
