In 2023, four of the nine social and environmental issues of concern received their lowest confidence scores in the ten years of tracking. Investing in our education (2.4 out of 10 in 2022; 2.3 out of 10 in 2023) and ensuring Canadians have a high standard of living (2.3 out of 10 in 2022; 2.2 out of 10 in 2023) decreased in 2023 in their lowest scores since tracking began, while further protecting our environment (2.3 out of 10 points) and keeping out healthcare system strong (2.2 out of 10 points) remained consistent with the previous year of lowest tracked scores.
Nanos conducted an RDD dual frame (land-and cell-lines) hybrid telephone and online random survey of 1,058 Canadians, 18 years of age or older, between October 1st to 4th, 2023 as part of an omnibus survey. Participants were randomly recruited by telephone using live agents and administered a survey online. Individuals randomly called using random digit dialling with a maximum of five call backs.
The margin of error for a random survey of 1,058 Canadians is ±3.0 percentage points, 19 times out of 20.
