With the Expectations Sub-indice at 50.14 on the 100 point diffusion index, forward looking consumer confidence remains neutral. Of note, in the past four weeks the proportion of individuals who say their personal finances has improved has declined from 18.18 to 14.60.

Nanos conducted an RDD dual frame (land- and cell-lines) telephone random survey of 1,110 respondents in Canada. This report is based on the four waves of tracking ending August 25, 2023. The margin of error for a random survey of 1,110 Canadians is ±3.0 percentage points, 19 times out of 20. The research was commissioned by the Bloomberg and was conducted by Nanos Research.
