Canada’s confidence has stabilized at neutral. The index has recovered from April lows, signalling a pause in pessimism rather than a clear recovery. Of note, personal finances and economic expectations remain weak. Improved expectations suggest cautious hope, but momentum is limited and fragile overall nationwide.

Nanos conducted an RDD dual frame (land- and cell-lines) telephone random survey of 1,027 respondents in Canada. This report is based on the four waves of tracking ending May 1st, 2026. The margin of error for a random survey of 1,027 Canadians is ±3.1 percentage points, 19 times out of 20. The research was commissioned by the Bloomberg and was conducted by Nanos Research.
