No involvement or diplomacy only, more popular than a military role for Canada.
Nearly 2 in 5 Canadians prefer that Canada not be involved militarily at all in the conflict the United-States has with Iran (37%). An additional one in three prefer that Canada focus exclusively on diplomatic efforts. One in four Canadians (23%) are good with a limited military role and another five per cent support direct participation alongside the US and Israel.
Nanos conducted an RDD dual frame (land- and cell-lines) hybrid telephone and online random survey of 1,099 Canadians, 18 years of age or older, between March 31st to April 4th, 2026, as part of an omnibus survey. The margin of error for this survey is ±3.0 percentage points, 19 times out of 20.
This study was commissioned by Globe and Mail, and the research was conducted by Nanos Research.
