Canadian confidence is climbing the wall of worry. The Bloomberg Nanos Canadian Confidence Index stands at 52.81, up from 52.55 four weeks ago and within sight of its twelve-month high of 54.19. The advance is one of expectation rather than experience. Only 13 per cent of Canadians say they are better off than a year ago, while 35 per cent say they are worse off.

– Nik Nanos, Chief Data Scientist

Nanos conducted an RDD dual frame (land- and cell-lines) telephone random survey of 1,022 respondents in Canada. This report is based on the four waves of tracking ending August 21, 2026.
