Canadian consumer confidence remained modestly positive in late July. The Bloomberg Nanos Canadian Confidence Index registered 52.55, slightly above its level four weeks earlier. Assessments of personal finances and job security were stronger, with the Pocketbook Index at 54.84, while views on the economy and housing market were more restrained, with the Expectations Index at 50.27. Overall sentiment remained above the neutral threshold but below the index’s long-term average.

Nanos conducted an RDD dual frame (land- and cell-lines) telephone random survey of 1,034 respondents in Canada. This report is based on the four waves of tracking ending July 24th, 2026. The margin of error for a random survey of 1,034 Canadians is ±3.1 percentage points, 19 times out of 20. The research was commissioned by the Bloomberg and was conducted by Nanos Research.
